Round Here

Is it just me, or does she look five years old?  This is Sophie's new picture smile.  She just started really cheesing for the camera.
Annie had her dance recital a couple of weekends ago.  Mama, Mary Rebecca, Sophie and I met Eleanor and Ansel for some mexican food before the recital.  The children were so good during the recital and after intermission they decided they needed to get up and do some dancing themselves.  Ansel looked at Sophie and said, "you want to dance Sophie?"  And she nodded yes.  Eleanor and I were laughing so hard we were sweating and crying.  They really put on a show.  All I could think was these girls have worked all year to prepare for this recital, and nobody is watching them because these two year olds are putting on the best show!  We took them to the back of the auditorium so that they would not be any more a distraction than they already.  They had so much fun running up and down the aisles!

Annie, Mary Rebecca, and Sophie after the recital.  Annie did so good!  We all went to Applebee's and got dessert, and the girls came to our house for a spend the night party.  Sophie loves when the big girls come over to play.  We did not get home until close to eleven o'clock and the big girls went straight to bed in Sophie's room.  Sophie was so excited, she jumped around our bed telling her daddy all about the night!
A few weeks ago, Maddie and I drove over to St. Simons for a baby shower that I helped  host for Amanda.  Amanda is due pretty soon, and she did not find out what she is having!  Whatever it is, it is going to be a beautiful baby!  We can't wait to see!!
I love this picture of the girls with Papa and Grandmama.  They stopped by with mama and daddy after they had been out to eat.  Sophie loves it when this happens.  She was saved by the bell!  It was about to be bed and bath time, but it got delayed so she could visit with everybody.

Becky,
I admire the way you are capturing all of this! I have to tell you that I love watching Sophie when Mary or Annie are around. She watches their every move. I know exactly how she feels! She has great big cousins to help her through this life! How lucky she is!

We laughed so hard at Sophie and Ansel, we were crying! Thought the folks around us might throw us out!
It is spontaneous times like this night, that bring joy to our lives. To watch children dance with total abandon is just precious! They are not yet held back by the fear of judgement or rejection by their peers. Dancing like nobody is watching, oh how we wish that innocence would last forever! I adore my granddaughters!I love them to pieces! I love who each one is growing to be! May they know how much they are loved by their heavenly Father unconditionally and completely. May they never forget that family is the most important circle, a place to be loved. nutured, molded, and yes, even a safe place to fall and be picked up to start again. I love you Annie, Mary Rebecca, Sophie, and Maddie with all my heart!
