It's Hot Out That Doe

Yesterday afternoon I looked out my kitchen window and realized my flowers were thirsty, so the girls and I went outside to water the pots and play , sweat to death.  I put Maddie in the push "beep beep" car, and Sophie wanted to try the tricycle.  I will begin by saying that the last time Mabry helped her ride the trike it did not sound like he had much patience with her.  I tried to correct him by telling him that she is only 2 1/2 and he should be gentle and patient while teaching her things like this.  I ate my words yesterday.  She did not even try to pedal, and her steering ability is zero.  Not to mention I was pushing Maddie at the same time, and it was 110 degrees outside.  I think I scared my neighbors at one point when I said in a rather harsh tone, "I told you to steer!".  I think it should be a rule that whoever gives her the gift (Mimi) should have to teach her how to use the gift ;)

I managed to get a couple of cute pictures of them playing in the yard despite the heat.

Sophie loves to chalk on the driveway.
I love this expression.  It's one I see often.

Sophie is waving to the twin girls who live next door to us.  They are about 7 yrs. old, and when they are outside playing Sophie is always mesmerized.  I love the smile she is giving.  The mystery of the "older girls", and what it would be like to play with them.

And this is what Miss Maddie thought about them.  Doesn't care too much at this point!

And she has  had enough of the sweat and humidity!
