Weekend Roundup

I woke up Friday morning thinking about tabbouleh and Kefta. Mama was keeping the girls that morning, so my plan was to prepare everything with mama Friday afternoon and I would take some home for us and mama and daddy would have some for their supper. It turned into a late afternoon pool party with Matt and Val, John and George, my family and mama and daddy. It was a lot of fun. I tried out a new blueberry pie recipe that Christy gave me.
It was delicious and easy.
1 block cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 container cool whip, a small container of fresh blueberries, and a graham cracker crust. Mix all ingredients (folding in blueberries so they don't tear) put in crust and chill.
*i used a shortbread crust

Saturday we enjoyed family time at home, and I got to run a few errands alone! ~insert hallelujah chorus~. I have been itching to sew a few things for the girls so I found myself at Hobby Lobby for fabric.
I'm still not sure what I'm going to do yet. Sophie has been asking for a "one shoulder" dress and I have been half way ignoring thr request simply because I think tr style is too old for her. Her older cousins inspire her fashion taste;). I spent some time on the Internet today looking for some inspiration for a "one shoulder" that would be sweet enough to look like a little girl and not a teenager!

We rode out to Sally's house that afternoon because Mary invited the girls to come watch her at the barn. After spending some time there the girls and I hoped on the ranger with Trav and the boys to go fill up some feeders. Sophie and Maddie had a blast! A couple of hours later, and a broken down ranger landed us back at the barn, but this time we were riding in a truck because we had to ditch the ranger!

Sunday morning brought cloudy skies. I thought it would be a great morning to try a new biscuit recipe for breakfast. Growing up we ate many lunches at the resthome. The biscuits were one my favorite things and I have yet to find a recipe to replicate them. Until today! Thank goodness for Pinterest! I found this recipe and we loved them. They took me back to being 8 years old and sneaking back into the resthome kitchen for a second biscuit!!

Mabry took Sophie to his mamas for the afternoon, and Maddie and I took the best nap of my life!

It took her 2.2 seconds to go to sleep, and I wasn't too far behind her.
